Special Olympics bowlers off to PEI after season wraps up

League play is over, and awards have been handed out, but the year doesn’t quite end for the Special Olympics bowlers.

The DC Strikers consisting of Ronny Collington, Willy Waffle, Chris Johnson, and Peter Fenneman took first place honours in the 10 team league. They, plus Lisa Perry, will be representing Dawson Creek on the national stage May 14 for the Special Olympics 2018 Bowling Championships in PEI.

In league play, Collington achieved the men’s high single score with a 265 game, while Fenneman had the men’s high double score with a 419 over two games.

David Johnson had the men’s high average with a 165.

Cherie Loucks took all the ladies high score awards, with a 268 single game, a 428 double, and an average of 161.

Whitney Stevens and Colton Geisbrecht won the sportsperson awards.

Waffle, Collington, Fenneman, Loucks, Perry, Angel Schwartz, Ann Cameron, Brianna Harman, Chris Johnson, Dara Watson, David Johnson, Luke Vanspronsen, and Michael Ryder were honoured for perfect attendance.
