Senior Canucks get shutout in Fort St. John

The Dawson Creek Senior Canucks suffered their first shutout loss all season Wednesday night, falling 5-0 to the Flyers in Fort St. John — it was the Flyers’ second straight shutout.

FSJ scored two goals in both the first and second period, and scored once in the third. Shots were tied 32-32.

With a win, the Senior C’s would have clinched first place in the league and the Lawrence Cup.

But with a Fahler Pirates loss tonight — they trail the Canucks by three points with two games left — the Canucks would clinch. If not, the C’s hold the keys to their fate, as they face the Pirates on Saturday, and earning just one point would guarantee first place.

The final regular season game — with first on the league potentially on the line versus Fahler — goes Saturday at Memorial Arena at 8:30 pm.
