DC rugby ladies play in Kamloops Rugby Sevens tournament

DC ladies Kerrington Schwertner, Jennaiya Hutchings, Dione Roets, Alicia Sorken and Nikita Dortch joined Peace Rugby ladies team to play during in the Kamloops Rugby sevens tournament on October 12 and 13th.

Team placed 10th overall out of 16 teams in the U19 pool B.

The girls played well above where they ranked at the end of the tournamen,” says coach Mark Rogers.

Five games total were played;

1. Loss against Kamloops 20-12

2. Win against Langley 24-5

3. Tied against Victoria 22-22

4. Win against United 1  12-5

5. Loss against Houston 5-0 going into OT


“Houston game was the most evenly matched team, and they scored in overtime.” Rogers says.

“I went with the expectation of winning one, where we ended up winning more.” 

The team from Williams Lake ended up winning the tournament.
