Margaret Bourassa recognized for 35 years of volunteering with Elementary Curling

Recently, those at Elementary Curling gave Margaret Bourassa recognition for her 35 years of volunteering.

“Margaret loved working with the students and is dedicated to growing the sport of curling with the younger generations. She has a passion for developing skills in the younger players and was always giving tips on and off the ice. Her dedication to the sport is one reason why the elementary curling program is so successful in Dawson Creek," notes Richell Schwartz, of the league committee.

"The league first started in the 1983 with two school classes getting together to play, from that year on the elementary league continued to grow and now the program is busting at the seams with over 80 students participating each week.

"The program would not be where it is today without the commitment of the volunteers, annual sponsors and support of the Dawson Creek Curling Club.”
