Junior Canucks stay perfect on road weekend

Captain Collin Mathieson nets a hat trick, Readman chips in 5 pts Saturday night against the Beaverlodge Blades

It was a successful road weekend for the Junior Canucks.

The boys boarded the bus home Saturday night from Alberta with another win, this time against the Beaverlodge Blades, who they blew past 9-2.

Drew Freisen got the win in net, his second of the season and second against the Blades. 

Captain Collin Mathieson blasted home a hat trick, while Mark Readman had a five-point night. 

Brad Dixon and Wesley Shipton each had a goal and two assists. Deon Leer had three assists. Cole London had a goal and an assist. Jack Blisner (1A), Trey Nichol (1A), Blair Bumstead(1A), Ethan Buck (1G) and Dustin Bahm (1A) each also put up points for the Canucks.

Evan Tordiff notched both markers for the Blades.

 

Dawson Creek beat Fairview 2-1 on Friday, making this road trip weekend a perfect 2-0.

The Canucks return to the ice Oct. 7 to face the Grande Prairie Kings. Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
