Feeling connected?

You really are, thanks to Xplornet.

In today’s world, remote communities depend on their service provider to deliver steady and reliable Internet access for communication, information, business, and entertainment purposes.

Whether it’s to reach out and chat with loved ones near and far, or dialing in on work calls—Xplornet strives for success in connectivity for its customers.

It’s also fast, thanks to Xplornet’s continuous motivation and drive to upgrade its services. This helps create a positive experience in streaming movies, connecting via video chat, and interacting with family and friends.

“We often talk a lot about speed and convenience in what we do,” says Jack Barreto, Xplornet’s district manager for B.C., Yukon and Northern Territories.

“But we also deliver the feeling of connection to all our customers and the world around them. So no matter where you are, you can be browsing through the Internet, video chatting with family, or having an important meeting online with co-workers.”

Xplornet’s mission is delivering its services, including the latest 25-megabit per second connection, to most rural communities such as Dawson Creek.

“Connecting remote areas has been a deterrent to other service providers. We use a combination of the right service— fibre optics, wireless and satellite—to provide the right connection at the right price to rural Canadians.

An important part of balancing service and cost is the fact that Xplornet provides its customers with unlimited data options.

“On all of our platforms, we offer unlimited data for our customers who find themselves relying on their Internet service to connect them for work, school, or entertainment purposes,” Barreto says. “They need the data volumes to support their habits and to keep them connected to their families and friends.”

Due to the public health stay-at-home advisories during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Xplornet has seen significant growth in its customer base.

“It’s been unprecedented. We’re delivering and attracting more and more satisfied customers and we do it all with local representation,” Barreto explains, adding that several businesses in the region provide installation and service for Xplornet.

“They provide a friendly, local face, while their work helps support the community. That’s very important.”

And it’s the same, familiar faces that will be tasked with keeping Xplornet’s customers up to date with future services, such as the much-heralded 5G network.

“It’s coming. Xplornet is already working with it and will hopefully be providing customers the service soon,” Barreto says. “We’re on the cutting edge of that.”
