Tumbler residents make their voices heard on TRMF funding

When voters in Tumbler Ridge went to vote for their municipal officials on October 20, they were also tasked with an opinion poll on the funding of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation.

The majority of respondents — 341 — voted to “continue to fund the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation only if child, tourism and family related services and displays are increased.”

Funding the TRMF with the “current services and displays” had 245 votes.

Outright not funding the foundation had the least — 169 votes.

Elected officials had noted the poll was non-binding, that they hoped to gauge what Tumbler Ridge residents wanted.
