Q: What is The Salvation Army doing about the COVID-19 pandemic? 
A: As an organization that has people at the core of our mission, the safety and health of our employees, clients, volunteers and partners is paramount. As one of the largest providers of social services in the country, we are doing our part to help contain the virus. 
 
Q: Will The Salvation Army continue to run programs and services? 
A: Yes, we will continue to serve our clients, to the best of our ability with the necessary government and local health authorities protocols in place. The best thing to do is contact your local Salvation Army 250 – 782-8669 to find out more information.
 
Q: Does The Salvation Army have a Pandemic plan? 
A: National and local Pandemic plans are in place to help us evaluate the short and long-term impact of the pandemic. We continue to follow communications from government and local health authorities to determine ways in which we can help the community during the pandemic. 
 
Q: Is The Are Salvation Army thrift store accepting in-store donations? 
A: Effective March 18, our Thrift store has closed to the public for shopping, but we will continue to accept donations of goods until further notice. Our Thrift store will continue to support crisis needs of our community and family services operations.
 
Q: How are you protecting your health care facilities? 
A: Our facilities are following strict visitation protocols and we work in partnership with the local public health authority.
 
Q: How are you practicing social distancing? 
A: Church worship gatherings and social events are cancelled until at least April 30.

A: The Salvation Army has set-up a COVID-19 task force that meets regularly to review and manage the situation.
