After a break-in at the post-office Sunday, March 31, Pouce Coupe council agreed to fast-track security cameras around the Village.

The project — which would see security cameras installed on all downtown municipal buildings — was already on the capital and special projects list approved by council previously for the amount of $25,000 in 2019.

At last Tuesday’s budget meeting, however, council agreed to pre-approve the project, allowing staff to begin work on it before the budget as a whole is adopted.

CAO Chris Leggett told council he would bring back quotes to install the cameras at a future meeting.
