The Village of Pouce Coupe has adopted their 2019 budget.
In the budget, $3,071,404 of revenue is projected, with $3,153,127 of expenditures, with $81,723 coming out of reserves and surplus.
Breaking down the expenditures, $714,047 is in general government, $491,728 for public works, $257,633 for the fire hall, $48,003 for environmental health, $47,559 is for public health and welfare, $278,125 is for recreation, $303,075 is for water services, $190,623 for sewer services, and $822,335 is pegged for capital and special projects.
The Pouce residential mill rate is set at 2.9451 per $1,000 of assessed value, which CAO Chris Leggett said will cost the average homeowner $2 per month more in municipal taxes this year. The Regional District mill rate for Pouce residents is 0.6983 and the Regional Hospital rate is 0.5889.
Class 6 business licences in Pouce also increased by $25 per year on average (7.3483 municipal mill rate), and a new class 5 light industrial rate was implemented, as a class 6 property had been reclassified as class 5 by BC Assessment. The class 5 mill rate is 9.1853.
