Pre-production has been underway since February on a motion picture/movie/film funded by the Village of Pouce Coupe.
‘Sukunka’ is expected to shoot this year and next, with Pouce playing a key character in the film, and a few south Peace locations to be showcased in this all-Peace production.
The most progressive village in the Peace Region is proving it once again by green lighting three years of funding for a motion picture to be shot in the region and showcase the village in a unique new way.
“We are always looking for different avenues to showcase the village in new ways,” says Pouce Coupe mayor Lorraine Michetti.
The plan for ‘Sukunka’ the motion picture is to shoot over the next 12 months.
“The idea is to be ready this year with lead and main supporting parts shooting this summer, and pick up larger cast and community shots throughout the fall and if need be next year,” says producer and writer Rob Brown.
The idea is to showcase the village and area, work with village non profits as well as other groups with the appropriate artistic or community fit for the project, he says.
“In addition to the work - it will result in a tangible product that will promote the village and region.”
The pre-production team behind the camera has been assembled has some of the true artistic and film veterans of the area.
“We will be announcing a few public casting days over the next two weeks or so,” says Brown.
