Pouce byelection
Results are in.

Pouce Coupe has a pair of new councillors.

Dani Veach and Marcel Woodill finished first and second respectively in the five candidate race. Preliminary vote counts have Veach sitting at 118, Woodill with 72, Les Randall with 69, Richard Mineault 63, and Synthia Lavallie with 52.

Veach ran on a campaign of making Pouce a progressive, and united community.

“We are so much more than a community riddled with controversy,” she noted to voters late in the campaign.

Woodill echoed the comments in the last days of the race.

“This is not the time to sling mud or be negative; It is a time to come together and build for our future.”

The pair of seats were caused by a pair of resignations earlier this year.

The general Pouce Coupe election for all council seats and mayor takes place in just over one year - during British Columbia's general municipal election day on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
