The Pouce Coupe fire department is getting more loads with a new water tanker. The increase of 600 gallons is key, says Pouce Coupe mayor Lorraine Michetti.

“It is great that we can partner up with the regional district.”

As a condition of the rural fire protection agreement with the village, the PRRD provides the water hauler for the village to respond to area D fires.

Area D director Leonard Hiebert says the replacement was overdue, Pouce fire chief Blair Deveau agreed about the $551,600 purchase.

“It’s another service for our ratepayers and an easy partnership,” said Hiebert. The move will increase transfers from Area D Peace River Agreement Reserves from $101,075 to $136,674 in 2020, and will decrease transfers from $183,925 to $113,326 in 2021.
