Nomination packages available in DC, PC, TR, and Chetwynd

Looking to run for council, school board trustee, or even mayor? Nomination packages are available in the South Peace.

For Dawson Creek, nomination packages are available at City Hall. While the packages are available, nomination period is from September 4 to 14. For more information: go to or contact Chief Elections Officer Brenda Ginter at 250-784-3614 or

In Chetwynd, nomination forms will be available at the District Office until the close of the nomination period. One can submit it by hand, mail, email (to, or fax (to 250-401-4101) between September 4 at 9 am and September 14 at 4 pm. Original copies of faxed or emailed submissions must be received by Chief Electoral Officer Deanne Ennis, who can be contacted at 250-401-4105.

For Tumbler Ridge, nomination packages can be found at town hall or until the end of nomination period. They can be hand submitted between 9 am September 4 and 4 pm on the 14th. They can also be emailed ( or faxed to 250-242-3993, but original copies must be received by September 14 anyways. Chief Electoral Officer Aleen Torraville can be contacted for more information at 250-242-4242.

In Pouce Coupe, nomination packages are available at the Village office until the end of nomination period.

In order to be qualified to run for municipal office, you must be a Canadian citizen, a resident of BC for at least six months prior to the day nomination papers are filed, and be 18 years or older on general voting day on October 20. You do not have to live or own property in the area where you are running for office.
