Deadly trap set in Chetwynd walking path

A deadly trap set to injure backcountry enthusiasts has been discovered near Chetwynd.

A board with long nails has been discovered across the walking trails near the Centurion Bridge trails behind the Rodeo Subdivision in Chetwynd.

Chetwynd RCMP and the District of Chetwynd would like to remind the public it is illegal to tamper with the trails and anyone caught causing issues to or with the trails could face fines up to $2000 and or be charged under the Criminal Code.

The Chetwynd RCMP will continue to monitor and patrol these trails for people not abiding by the rules.
