Chetwynd resident sentenced nearly eight years for attempted murder and kidnapping

Chetwynd resident Brandon MacDonald, 32, was handed a prison sentence of nearly eight years for attempted murder and kidnapping.

RCMP say MacDonald pled guilty on January 10 in Supreme Court in Dawson Creek to attempted murder with a firearm, kidnapping, and uttering threats in relation to a 2016 investigation.

The sentence also includes a lifetime firearm prohibition.

Robert Clarke, 34, of PEI, also pled guilty to aggravated assault in relation to the investigation. Clarke was sentenced to 1.5 years in jail with a lifetime firearm prohibition.
