Six-month conditional sentence after more than $150,000 stolen

A former bookkeeper at Halo Ventures Ltd. located in Bonanza, AB has recently been charged and pled guilty to embezzling more than $150,000 from former employers.

Cara Grace Viczko Singer was recently given a six-month conditional sentence after she pled guilty to falsifying employment records.

“This came as a complete shock and has left everyone who worked side by side with her completely devastated,” says one insider to the company about the fraud.

“There really is no way to help heal from the complete betrayal but we’re hoping that by it being shared in Dawson Creek that this can help inform and warn other business owners,” said another about the situation.

In January, Singer agreed to pay Halo back the $117,000 and then later another $32,000. Singer is expected to serve her sentence on house arrest and will also have to complete 50 hours of community service.
