PRiS has now equipped the utility towers across Saddle Hills County, AB with Wireless Internet Equipment. Wireless services have been on-line in the Baytree, Gundy, and Bonanza communities since the fall of 2016.

With the balance of the towers on-line as of December 2016, reliable, wireless internet service is now available to all residents of the county including Silver Valley, Blueberry Mountain, Woking and Gordandale.

PRiS, a Not For Profit Society, will offer a free wireless connection to one local community centre at each tower site, while offering competitively priced wireless internet packages to local county residents and businesses.

Spokesperson, Naomi Muise noted a funding partnership between PRiS, Saddle Hills County, Industry Canada and The .CA Community Investment Program have made these installations possible.

“They provide an excellent example of what can be accomplished when community partners work together with local government to overcome remote location challenges such as connectivity, specific to many northern communities”.
