More than 1,000 Albertans have tested positive with 29 fatalities as of Wednesday.

More than 1,000 Albertans have tested positive with 29 fatalities as of Wednesday.

"Last night I spoke to Albertans about scenarios about health system needs," said Kenney about modelling and projections.

"These are trends, not concrete predictions but we will continue to refine the data," he said.

"Alberta is doing well in terms of other jurisdictions," Kenney said, comparing Alberta's numbers to South Korea.

To date, South Korea has 10,000 cases and 200 deaths.

"BC's first infection was three weeks ahead of us, so they will see more people in the system. Our stronger testing means we have been better with testing and containment," said Kenney.

Kenney said Alberta is expecting 400 to 3,100 deaths, with a peak in the middle of May and is bracing for as many as 800,000 cases.
