The Dawson Creek is celebrating Pride month all through June. Several virtual events will be hosted by the Dawson Creek Pride Society, and board member Chelsea Mackay says everyone is welcome to participate.

"We're really excited. Hopefully it all goes smoothly, all this digital stuff is quite new to us."

On June 24, the society will host ‘Out on Screen’, playing a selection of LGBTQ2S+ films, followed by a DJ and Drag Queen from Canada’s Drag Race on June 25, and wraps up with a Pride presentation at Northern Lights College on June 28.

“It’s exciting. This is the first time we’ve had big name drag queens associated with Dawson Creek Pride,” said Mackay.

The society is also offering a $500 scholarship this year for a 2021 Dawson Creek Secondary School graduate heading into post-secondary.
