LETTER: DC Chamber on the caribou

The Board of Directors, on behalf of our members are offering our support to the efforts of our local governments in both the north and south peace as well as the Peace River Regional District.

The Board would also like to acknowledge that our office has taken the lead in supporting and assisting the Concerned Citizens for Caribou Recovery (CCCR) team in their efforts to inform and educate the region and province on the socio economic impacts of closures to crown land without proper consultation with government, industry, business owners, recreationalists, and other key stakeholders.

We have shared the petition and information with our members and the general public and will continue to do so. We believe that it is of vital importance that government begin immediate consultations in an open and transparent manner with all stakeholders.

We encourage all residents to educate themselves on the Caribou Recovery Program and the potential impacts to our region.

Wanda Maundrell - President.
