A statement from BC Parks and the Ministry of Environment

“We know restricting access to parks has been challenging and commend the public for making it work. We look forward to when we return to normal operations.

People are not allowed to access a BC Parks marine park or a provincial park with a body of water by any means, including through private boat launches. Residents who must pass through a provincial marine park or a park with a body of water for access to and from primary residence are permitted to do so.

Essential travel to destinations in a BC Parks Marine Park or a park with a body of water is permitted for the purposes of maintaining and securing private property and assets only. The use of BC Parks boat launches for recreational access to secondary properties is currently prohibited.

BC Parks staff are patrolling and monitoring parks and are managing those who are found in non-compliance of the park closure order. If a road is available to provide passage to a recreational or primary residence within or adjacent to a BC Park, roadway access must be used.”
