Women make almost 50 percent of the world population, according to the World Bank. When people compliment some women, their immediate reaction is to put themselves down rather than just to accept a compliment with a big bright smile. Why it is hard for women to feel good about themselves, they make a significant percentage of lower-paid jobs such as secretary, administration, customer service. They take care of the most unpaid care responsibilities at home. They stop their career growth to take care of kids at home. They are very few CEOs who are women all around the world. Women don’t ask for raise or won’t apply for the job they don’t think they have the skills. However, it is different for men who believe that job skills can be learned later. Even literature uses he to refer to a human or God.
Here are some reasons that women are afraid of themselves. Fear runs in ourselves and prevents us from moving forward, even to the smallest degree. We may suffer with low self-esteem and imposter syndrome. We are made to have dreams; the dreams we are afraid to have. We are made to contribute to the world, to our community, and our family. Sadly, women don’t always give such advice to each other. Young women need female mentors to help them grow. We feel like young women have figured it out where they have not. Communities need to create a mentorship program for young women. It is not a war between two genders. Both genders are not equal. Men are good at something, and women are good at something else. We all play different roles in order to keep the world going. The point is to understand each other and give respect. Women are not afraid of themselves or other women.
You (women) should not look down. Create time for yourself to take care of yourself mentally and emotionally. You must focus on three things: let go of excuses, adapt great habits and behaviour, aquire skills to make growth possible. Consistency is the key here. We, women, need to make it work, so the best version of ourselves becomes our new normal. We are not called gold diggers, but goal diggers.
Growth is happiness.
