Got a lot in this year. A couple things not planned.
Added more columnists and community voices to the pages of the Mirror. Got to see first hand the Liberals get Plecas-ed. Had three cartoonists in the pages this year.
The Mirror was up for some provincial and other awards, nominations for that first year work, this past year. Cool. Let’s try for some more for this past 2017 year’s buffet.
Tried to write an editorial every week this year. Not quite, but close. Going to change the schedule on that in 2018. Started doing film reviews again last year too. Did that weekly for a decade way way back in the day, so that is some balance. Was named the most photogenic person in the Peace by a photographer who has a real eye for vision.
Adventures took us to Vegas. Van. Vic.
Heard the editors were going to expand the brand slightly in the Peace in 2018. Watch for that. Wrote and produced that play early on. Did the Cultural Ambassador 2017 thing.
There’s another dinner theatre this February, this time in Dawson Creek – check it out, it’s called A Cold North Night. The writer is a real hack.
Trail of ‘42, U17, 150th, 75th. Pouce Coupe at the end there. Some great stuff this year.
Regrets? Didn’t catch that Bon Ivor concert. Haven’t interviewed that Spirit River fellow fronting a massive rock band. No Sukunka Festival this past year.
See you next year for Mirror Year III: Ragnarok. Some new additions right away.
Until next time, managing editor Rob Brown
