WHL Roundup: Winnipeg Ice erase three-goal deficit in 3rd, stun Warriors for 9th win

The Ice improved to 9-0-0 this season while the Warriors dropped to 3-5-0.

Down 4-1 in the third and facing defeat for the first time this year, Winnipeg got two goals from Matthew Savoie – at 10:59 and 13:05 – to get within one. 

Nolan Orzeck scored the equalizer at 14:03 before Connor McClennon, with his team-leading eighth of the season, completed the improbable comeback by scoring the winner with 45 seconds left on the clock.

Mikey Milne had three assists for Winnipeg while Gage Alexander made 23 saves.

Winnipeg outshot Moose Jaw 47-27 overall, including 20-7 in the third period alone.

Brayden Yager scored twice for the Warriors, which got 42 saves from Carl Tetachuk.
