Taylor Speedway came alive for its 2020 season opener, June 12. This year's season is starting two weeks earlier, on May 28.

Thanks to yesterdays public health announcement, the Taylor Speedway is starting its 2021 season right on time this weekend. The Bomber Invitational will take place Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29, with racing starting at 7 p.m. both nights.

The Speedway was always holding out hope they would be able to run half of their classes this weekend, but with the B.C. reopening plan stating that organized outdoor gatherings can now have up to 50 people, the Speedway is going ahead with its normal race weekend schedule, and limiting the amount of people in the pits at any one time.

"It's great, we're all pretty anxious to be doing things. We did really well with the restrictions last year, and we will this year too," said Taylor Speedway President Kelly Hildebrand.

Fans won't be allowed at the track, but can watch the races via livestream on the Speedway's Facebook page.
