It wasn’t a win, but a 2-2 tie with the other game one winner is good enough to tie for the best record of 1-0-1.
Williams Lake had the first tally and the only one of the first period.
DC scored twice in the second period, with captain Jeff Taylor putting the first one in 3:31 in (assisted by Junior Canuck Wesley Shipton), and Kole Norris put up his fourth goal of the tournament to give them the 2-1 lead.
The lead only lasted 1:21, as William Lake’s Zach Strenberg tied it up heading into the second intermission.
Neither team scored in the third.
DC outshot the host Stampeders 35-22, with goaltender Josh Round making 20 saves (.909 SV%).
A win tonight against the Terrace team — who have not won a game — would guarantee the Canucks a spot in the next round. Puck drop is at 5 pm.
