If there was any doubt left that the Dawson Creek Kodiaks were a different team than the one that struggled to start the season, they erased it last night with a dominating 10-3 win at home over the Fairview Flyers, November 12. This follows the Kodiaks beating the Flyers 6-2 last Saturday, and is the Kodiaks fourth win in a row.
After a hectic first five minutes to the game, which saw the Flyers take a 2-1 lead, the Kodiaks flipped a switch and dominated the rest of the way. The Kodiaks scored eight unanswered goals before the Flyers got their third late in the third period.
Parker Wilson had a hat trick in the game, while Jon Griffiths (2 goals, 1 assist) and Markus Ruehl (1 goal, 2 assists) had three points each as well.
With a 7-8 record, the Kodiaks remain in fifth place, but are just two points behind the County of Grande Prairie Kings for second in the league. Dawson Creek will look to pick up two more points against the fourth place Sexsmith Vipers (6-6-3) at home, Sunday afternoon, at 1:30 p.m.
