Canucks take first place in NPHL on the road Friday, drop Rangers in 9-1 Saturday romp at home

League leaders.

The Dawson Creek Canucks scored a goal with every three shots in the first period to jump to a 5-0 lead after the first period, taking the score to 7-1 one after a pair of periods Saturday night at home. 

Brandon Rowley and Colin Mathieson were all over the scoresheet - with the Canucks taking the Spirit River Rangers 9 to 1.

With the 4-2 win on Friday night in Falher, the Canucks picked up first place in the North Peace Hockey League regular season.

This afternoon at the Memorial, the hockey action switches back to the Dawson Creek Kodiaks with Grande Prairie Wheat Kings coming to Mile Zero for an afternoon tilt. Puck drop at 2pm.
