It's time to meet the new face looking after all the old tomes at the South Peace Historical Society.

Archivist Denee Renouf is the first staff hired by the society and will be looking over the collections at the society’s archives as well as at the DC museum.

Renouf is a graduate of Simon Fraser University in archaeology with a MA in History from Waterloo.

“It is an exciting time,” she says about projects at the society.

“We have small things like photos that still need to be identified, to getting some summer students, as well as digitizing maps and videos to add to our online collection,” she says. Up immediately is an open house at KPAC to meet Renouf and to check out the South Peace Historical Society offices and archives.

Rumours of light appetizers, refreshments and light conversation are true. The event runs from noon to 3pm Thursday, October 19 at KPAC.
