A look at sentences handed out in South Peace courts over the past two weeks. There were no items up for disposition in Tumbler Ridge during that time.

DAWSON CREEK

• Tyler L. Calliou (born 1987) was given a zero-day jail sentence and a $100 victim surcharge after being found guilty of breach of probation.

• Ruth E. Ellis (born 1949) was handed a $500 fine, a $75 victim surcharge and a year’s driving prohibition on a charge of driving while prohibited/licence suspended.

• Brian A. Mooney (born 1987) was given a zero-day jail sentence, a probation order and a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of breach of probation. On a charge of breach of probation, Mooney was handed a $100 victim surcharge, zero-day jail sentence and a probation order.

• Nicole M. Pilgrim (born 1996) was given a zero-day jail sentence and a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of breach of probation.

• Phillip A. Strickland (born 1987) was given a zero-day jail sentence, a $200 victim surcharge, a probation order and 18-months conditions after being found guilty of a charge of assault. On a charge of assault, Strickland was given a zero-day jail sentence, a $200 victim surcharge, probation and 18 months conditions. Strickland was given a six day jail sentence, related sentences, a $200 victim surcharge and 18 months probation on a charge of mischief $5,000 or under. Strickland was handed a zero-day jail sentence, $200 victim surcharge, 18-months probation, a ten-year firearms prohibition and a DNA order on a charge of unlawful confinement or imprisonment. Strickland was given a six-day jail sentence, $200 victim surcharge and 18 months probation on a charge of mischief $5,000 or under.

• Peter G. Thelin (born 1995) was given a $100 victim surcharge and a zero-day jail sentence on a charge of breach of undertaking or recognizance. He was given a zero-day jail sentence and a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of breach of undertaking or recognizance.

• Bert Van Dooren (born 1959) was given a $100 victim surcharge, ordered to give a DNA sample, a 90-day conditional sentence, and a probation order on a charge of assault.

• Katrine A. Letendre (born 1986) was given a zero-day jail sentence, a one year probation order and a $100 victim surcharge after being found guilty of possession of a controlled substance.

• Dakota L. Samoleski (born 1998) was given a zero-day jail sentence and a $100 victim surcharge  on a charge of failing to comply with sentence/surcharge/disposition. On a charge of breach of undertaking or recognizance, Samoleski was given a 34-day jail sentence and a $100 victim surcharge.

• Kara L. Wright (born 1981) was given a $1,000 fine, a $300 victim surcharge, and two-years driving prohibitions on a charge of care or control of a vehicle/vessel over .08.

• Sheldon J. Caldwell (born 1971) was given a zero-day jail sentence, one year’s probation and a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of possession of stolen property under $5,000. On a charge of breach of undertaking or recognizance, Caldwell was given a zero-day jail sentence, a probation order, conditions and a $100 victim surcharge. On a charge of break and enter with intent to commit offence, Caldwell was given a zero-day jail sentence, a one-year probation order, and a victim surcharge of $100. Caldwell was given a zero-day jail sentence, a one-year probation order, and a victim surcharge of $100 on a charge of wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer. On a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Caldwell was given a zero-day jail sentence, one year’s probation, a $100 victim surcharge, and two year’s driving probations.

• Darnell C. Sharron (born 1993) was given a zero-day jail sentence and a $100 victim surcharge on a charge of breach of undertaking or recognizance.

CHETWYND

• Tyler G. Drinkall (born 1995) was given a 12-month driving prohibition, a $1,000 fine and a $300 victim surcharge after being found guilty of being in care or control of a vehicle or vessel over .08.

• Sheryl A. Mayes (born 1963) was given a $1,500 fine, a $450 victim surcharge, a driving prohibition and related sentences on a charge of being in care or control of a vehicle or vessel over .08.
