A weekly summary of what happened in Peace Region law courts for the week ending Aug. 26.

Dawson Creek Law Courts:

  • Eric Dale Capot Blanc (born 1995) was handed $400 in victim surcharges for one count possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count breach or probation order and two counts breach of an undertaking or recognizance. 
  • Rori Dean Formaniuk (born 1992) avoided jail time, but was handed a $100 victim surcharge for one count breach of a probation order. 
  • Sean Michael Bergunder (born 1995) entered into a Peace Bond agreement for one year and was fined $500 after being found guilty of a lesser included charge of fear of injury/damage by another person. The original charge was assault. 
  • Daylon Bryce Konopke (born 1992) was issued a conditional discharge, sentenced to one year of probation and handed a $100 victim surcharge for one count possession of a controlled substance. 
  • Twyla Dawn Marie Nicholson (born 1986) entered into an agreement to keep the peace and be on good behaviour for 6 months, and was fined $500 after being found guilty of the lesser included charged of one count, fear of injury/damage by another person. The original charge was assault. 
  • Michael Leslie Sanche (born 1990) was fined $400 and issued a $100 victim surcharge for one count failing to appear pursuant to a court order and one count breach of probation order. 
  • Faith Elissa Abel (born 1992) was given a conditional discharge, sentenced to six months of probation and handed a $100 victim surcharge for one count of assault. 
  • Reginald Alfred Hill (born 1941) was given a conditional discharge, sentenced to one year of probation, ordered to pay $300 in restitution and handed a $100 victim surcharge for one count, mischief $5,000 or under. 

Fort St. John Law Courts:

  • Patrick Rylie Spencer (born 1990) was fined $2,000, sentenced to one year of probation and issued a $300 victim surcharge after being found guilty of a lesser included charge of driving without a driver's licence. The original charge was driving while prohibited. 
  • Ronald Michael Oster (born 1974) was fined $500, banned from driving for one year and handed $75 victim surcharge for one count, driving while prohibited/licence suspended.
  • Craig Apsassin (born 1985) avoided jail time, but was hit with a $100 victim surcharge for one count, breach of a probation order.
  • Kyle Jules Crook (born 1983) was fined $750 and handed a $112.50 victim surcharge after being found guilty of a lesser included charge of driving without a driver's licence. The original charge was driving while prohibited. 
  • Martin Enes (born 1995) was fined $1,000 and handed a $150 victim surcharge for one count of driving while prohibited/licence suspended. 
  • Harvey Allan Wayne Farslow (born 1974) was fined $2,500. banned from driving for 18 months, and handed $675 in victim surcharges for one count, driving while driver's licence is suspended and once count, care or control of a vehicle/vessel with over .08 blood/alcohol. 
  • Andrew William Joseph Bird (born 1990) was fined $1,000 and handed a $300 victim surcharge after being found guilty of a lesser included charge of driving without reasonable consideration. The original charge was care or control of a vehicle or vessel while impaired.
  • Joredean Henyu (born 1994) was sentenced to three months in jail, ordered to provide a DNA sample, banned from possessing firearms for ten years and issued a $100 victim surcharge for one count, trafficking of a controlled substance. 
  • Raylene Roberta Carson (born 1970) was given a conditional discharge, sentenced to one year of probation and handed a $100 victim surcharge for one count, possession of property obtained by crime. 
  • Diane Wendy Field (born 1988) was fined $450 and handed $135 in victim surcharges for one count of theft $5,000 or under and one count breach or an undertaking.
  • Cory John Langdon (born 1990) was fined $1,000, sentenced to six months of probation and handed a victim surcharge of $150 after being found guilty of a lesser included charge of driving without reasonable consideration. The original charge was care or control of a vehicle or vessel while impaired.
  • Patricia June Sellina Marks (born 1993) entered into an agreement to keep the peace and be on good behaviour for one year and was fined $500 for one count fear of injury/damage by another person.

Tumbler Ridge Law Courts:

  • Laszlo George Illes (born 1997) was given a six-month conditional discharge, sentenced to six months of probation and handed a $100 victim surcharge for one count mischief, $5,000 or under.
