Liberals to form next government after 44th election

Results are coming in as all polls finish in the 44th Canadian election. 

The Canadian Press is projecting that the Liberal party will win the most seats in the 2021 federal election, giving them the best chance to form the next government. It is not yet clear whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will win a majority or need the support of at least one other party to remain in power with a minority government.

At 8:10pm Pacific time Monday night, Liberals have been called to win, are leading or projected to win 154 seats, Conservatives 121, NDP 30, BQ 30, and Green 2. 

At 7:30pm Pacific time Monday night, Liberals have been called to win, are leading or projected to win 141 seats, Conservatives 100, BQ 26, NDP 22, Green 1 and PPC 1. 

At 7:10pm Pacific time Monday night, Liberals have been called to win, are leading or projected to win 102 seats, Conservatives 67, BQ 18, NDP 15 and Green 1
 

At 6:45pm Pacific time Monday night, Liberals have been called to win, are leading or projected to win 41 seats, Conservatives 20, BQ 5, NDP 2 and Green 1
