City of Dawson Creek property taxes are due today - July 4.
Notices were sent out mid May to notify any property tax payments not received by midnight on July 4 - will incur a 10% penalty.

Did you know the City of Dawson Creek collects property taxes on behalf of the following other government agencies; BC Assessment Authority, Municipal Finance Authority, Peace River Regional District, Peace River Regional Hospital District, and School Tax (District 59).
Property Tax Deferment program
This is a Provincial government program that allows the deferral of property taxes on your primary residence. To qualify, you must be one of the following; 55 years or older, a surviving spouse or person with disability, financially support a dependent child with disability or is under the age of 18, For more information and to apply, go online to www.gov.bc.ca/propertytaxdeferment
Paving Levy
A paving levy of 1.5% has been added to the tax levy under general municipal taxes. This is to replace the previous Local Area Service Improvements process. If your property is currently enrolled in a Local Area Service Improvement for paving, you will be exempt from the paving levy until the process is complete.
