Kathleen Connolly, current executive director of the Dawson Creek and District Chamber of Commerce, has been named the non-profit's new CEO.
Chamber president Patricia Adamson penned a letter concerning the new title last week
"The board recognizes the importance of diverse and culturally safe workplaces," she said.
"We are proud to have a First Nations woman leading our board and membership, and continue to commit to 'actioning' policies and procedures to promote reconciliation with our First Nations neighbours."
Adamson added Connolly has provided leadership for the last decade to the Chamber's board of directors.
"We are excited to continue to grow our membership and community engagement with Kathleen's proven leadership providing guidance," concluded Adamson.
