Two rural areas of the Peace River Regional District will chip in $200,000 to support services for rural seniors in Electoral Areas D and E Thursday at their rural budget meeting. The Dawson Creek Society for Community Living will use the funds to continue their Rural Seniors Initiative, also known as Seniors Aging in Place.

Areas D and E will contribute $150,000 and $50,000 respectively.

A pilot project launched last year for the services, running from January to February in 2020.

The program was considered a success by organizers with strong community support; and led the creation of second year of the project running from January to April of this year.
