The Exploring Art Group says they’re are happy to accept new members starting Sept. 8.
“We’re looking forward to having our 30 members return, and hopefully some new people,” she said. “I think everyone’s excited to get back into a bit of a routine, as long as our provincial health officer makes it a doable thing," said President Janet Loiselle.
The group was created by local artist and community activist Edna McPhail, a member of the South Peace Art Society since 1956, and has been running ever since. Every spring the Dawson Creek Art Gallery hosts the group's annual art show.
During their downtime, the group secured a $1,000 grant in June, which will be used to host painting workshops and more.
“We’re looking at opportunities to partner with other groups for space use, if they want to come in and do a workshop, we won’t turn that down.”
The studio itself is set up at the aviation building at Northern Lights College, with weekly dates still to be determined, added Loiselle.
