The Peace region's pro cowboys and cowgirls were in Regina last week, November 27 to 30, for the Maple Leaf Circuit Finals.
Jacob Gardner had three top finishes in the bull riding go rounds, and won the average as well, for a total payout of $5,783.03 from the week. He added fourth place in a steer wrestling go round as well for good measure.
Chetwynd's Rylee Trenholm had the quite the week in barrel racing, winning one go round and finishing in the top four of the rest of the rounds, as well as second in the average, to earn a total of $5,272.75.
Fort St. John's Stephen Culling had two top-four finishes in steer wrestling, and finished third overall for the average to take home $2,721.42.
The finals in Regina concluded what was a strong Maple Leaf Circuit already for the three riders. Gardner was fourth in bull riding and 11th in steer wrestling heading into Regina, while Culling was sixth. Trenholm was third in barrel racing winnings prior to the finals.
Jake Watson (saddle bronc) and Clayton Moore (steer wrestling) were fifth and eighth respectively, as well, in their events before the Regina rodeo.
