RCMP are warning users of the Dawson Creek trail to be on the lookout after two separate incidents of a man exposing himself to women and young girls between the section of trail by 17th Street and the Public Library.
On June 15, a tall white male wearing sunglasses was seated on park bench, reportedly smelling strongly of marijuana. When a young girl passed by, he exposed himself to her.
Police say he did not approach the girl, who quickly fled the scene and reported the incident.
RCMP patrolled the area, but came up empty handed.
On July 8, a similar incident occurred when a white male approached two females on the walking trail, exposing himself. He continued down the trail, but the two women say when they looked back, he was masturbating.
The man is described as approximately 5’10” with a medium build, about 30-years-old with brown hair, wearing plaid shorts and a t-shirt.
Police could not confirm whether the same male was involved in both instances.
“Given that this is the second incident in less than a month, police are warning persons using the walking trail to be aware,” Sgt. Ed Reinink said.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance.
Anyone who may have seen someone matching the descriptions on the walking trail is asked to contact police at 250-784-3700.
