The Dawson Creek Curling Club has announced that Beaverlodge born curler Geoff Walker will be a guest speaker at the Dawson Creek Mixed Doubles Provincials banquet night on Friday, February 15.

He has made seven Tim Hortons Brier appearances, having won the previous two with Team Gushue. He says the first Brier win in 2017 in front of his team’s home crowd in St. John, NL, was his proudest accomplishment thus far.

A native of the Peace Region, Walker played in Grande Prairie as a junior.

“It’s a pretty close knit curling community in the Peace Region — everybody knows everybody,” says Walker, who now lives in Edmonton. “You see a lot of good players coming out of there.

“It’s just an opportunity to give back to the Peace Region.”

A limited number of tickets are open to the public.
