Wal-Mart fire charge pending

Dawson Creek resident Nathan Whynot has been charged in connection with a June 15 fire set inside Wal-Mart.

“Several witness were spoken to and video surveillance identified a possible suspect and have located evidence in the arson,” say RCMP.

When police arrived on scene it was learned that someone had apparently set fire to items at the back of the store.

“Customers and employees were evacuated and there were no reports of injuries.”

As reported in the Dawson Creek Mirror, a pair of 2020 DCSS graduates, travelling in a decked out Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine, were in Wal-Mart and helped stop the blaze.
