Tourism week is here and real. Hotels are hot, and we often send reporters out to talk about full parking lots.
“We have some small programming throughout the week. People always say there is nothing to do - there is everything to do here in Dawson Creek and surrounding,” says Ryan MacIvor with Spectra and City of Dawson Creek.
Tourism week means the business of tourism is on like Donkey Kong.
It is a national, grassroots initiative that brings attention to the economic opportunity available to Canada, and British Columbia, through travel and tourism.
To celebrate Tourism Week and acknowledge the operators, employees, suppliers, destination marketing organizations, visitor centres, sectors, and others who contribute to this important industry, we are inviting stakeholders from every community to spread the word about the power of tourism in British Columbia.
This initiative is part of a concerted effort to showcase local tourism products and experiences, and demonstrate that #BCTourismMatters in communities across the province.
