Swan Lake turns 100, time to party like it’s 1918

From 11 am to 4 pm this Saturday, BC Parks and Sandstorm North Contracting are hosting a centennial celebration for Swan Lake Provincial Park.

Among the activities will be a barbecue, cupcakes, educational displays, numerous hands on activities, and more. The official mascot of BC Parks, Jerry the Moose, will also make an appearance — sources say he will be available for a meet and greet.

There will probably be time for a quick swim, as well.

Originally established June 19, 1918, Swan Lake Provincial Park is only younger than the Strathcona and Mount Robson parks.
