Severe thunderstorm warning for area

Rain expected Wednesday.

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain over Mile Zero.

Dawson Creek Mirror weatherman Sky Hammer says a storm is moving to the northeast across Hwy 52 about 30 km south of Tumbler Ridge.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
