The Provincial Government has announced that School District 59 will be receiving $2,109,640 for school upgrades and new buses.
Through the School Enhancement Program, the District is receiving funding for HVAC upgrades (Phase 2) at Dawson Creek Secondary, and through the Carbon Neutral Capital Program, they are receiving money to install a Direct Digital Control system at Devereaux Elementary.
Funding is also provided for five new buses.
The funding is part of $206 million total from the province to school districts across BC for energy upgrades, maintenance projects and new buses.
“This funding provides better instructional environments for both teachers and learners to focus more of their energies on student success,” said Rob Fleming, Minister of Education.
North of the Peace River, School District 60 is receiving $1,443,473 for boiler upgrades and three new buses.
