Preventing falls, in seniors and all

Reports say one in three elders fall every year and are treated for injuries during the winter season. A few tips to prevent falls can be;

Keep your body active.

Make your home safer.

Have regular eye exams by an optometrist.

Have your doctor or pharmacist review your medications.

Plan ahead. If you don’t need to go out during bad weather don’t.

Don’t rush and give plenty of time.

Use caution when entering and exiting vehicles.

Take the path of least resistance.

Ask for help.

Wear appropriate footwear.

Use hand rails.

Clean your shoes from snow and ice.
