Mile Zero Clinic takes new, walk-in patients

Doctor, doctor, give me the news.

A pair of doctors new to DC now hang their shingle at the Mile Zero Walk-In Clinic at the Co-op mall, and both are taking new patients.

Drs Magda Du Plessis and Anton Venter, from practices in Penticton and Chetwynd respectively, were looking for changes in scenery.  Dawson Creek provided that opportunity for both.

Dr. Du Plessis’ focus on pre-natal and women’s health comes as a bonus to the area.  As well the clinic will be running a Pap Clinic come May.

“We are both taking new patients as well as walk-in ones.” she says.

Dr. Du Plessis said the patient demographic is younger here than Penticton.

“There is a great sense of community here, which has been nothing but welcome and great support amongst area physicians.”

Dr. Venter says the clinic will run extended hours as usual, 9am to 7:30pm through the week and 10am to 3pm on Saturday.  The clinic is closed on Saturdays of a long weekend and  Saturdays through the summer months.

He adds with more doctors on hand - it means more options for Dawson Creek and area.

“We welcome new and old patients, walk-ins as well as any former patients of the Mile Zero Clinic with Dr. Neveling.” he says.

“Please check our Facebook page for updates regarding any time and date changes.   If patients are wanting to join the practice they are asked to phone and book a new patient appointment.” says Belinda Trail at the clinic.
