Kindness meter recipients receive $540.79 from city

Network Ministries and the South Peace Building Learning Together Society received $540.79 through donations to Kindness Meters in Dawson Creek in 2018.

Kindness meters are located in four locations across the City and give people the opportunity to give to local community groups. TransCanada, in turn matches the donation, allowing money to go to two different groups.

They were handed a cheque at Monday’s city council meeting.

Network Ministries funds will go towards their ‘We Need More Space’ campaign, while the SPBLT says the money will go towards free parenting classes.

The two groups that will receive the funds from this year’s donations were revealed to be the Sight Impaired Group of Dawson Creek and the Dawson Creek Arts & Wellness Fund.
