Extreme cold warning for DC

Temperatures near minus 35, combining with winds of 10 to 15 km/h will produce wind chill values of minus 40 or colder early this morning near Dawson Creek, say weather officials to the Mirror. 

"Extreme cold puts everyone at risk," says Mirror weather personality Sky Hammer.

"Wind chill values will improve later this morning."

The average high for the day is -3.1, while the average low is -15.1. The highest temperature this time of year was a plus 11 day in 1992. This was followed in 1994 by the coldest February 25 on record - a -44.8 day.
