Drawn to art

Lance Dowd’s art work is on every garbage can in the city. And city letterhead. It’s the City of Dawson Creek’s logo, submitted by Dowd more than 20 years ago.

“I made one up and kind of forgot about it. Then I started seeing it around town.”

Dowd, 76, does work on oil painting and has found himself otherwise inspired by Monet works and has spent his career in Dawson Creek real estate.

“It shows you that creative projects can get out there – perhaps it is a message for young artists to keep up the work,” he says.

And that’s no trash talk.
